Peter Deng is a General Partner at Felicis, investing in companies unlocking new possibilities for consumers and businesses with AI. He invests up and down the stack and across verticals, bringing an operator’s lens to help founders see around corners at key inflection points. Over the last decade, Peter has built and scaled some of the most widely used consumer products in the world, most recently as a VP at OpenAI leading the team behind ChatGPT. He previously served as Chief Product Officer at Airtable and was Head of Rider at Uber. Earlier, he spent a decade at Meta, where he founded the Messenger team, led News Feed, worked on core Facebook products, and served as Instagram’s first Head of Product. Peter earned a bachelor’s degree in Symbolic Systems and a master’s degree focused on Human-Computer Interaction from Stanford University. He lives in the Bay Area with his wife and children, and loves food and sports.
