John Anderson

John is the Head of Product and Head of Payments at Plaid, he previously held many positions at Facebook including Head of Product (Oculus), Product Management Director, Head of Payments and Commerce, and Head of Japan Sales and Operations.

John brings over 10 years of startup and executive level operations, sales, and product leadership experience. John also serves as an advisor, investor, and board member for a number of leading companies and startups.

As Facebook’s director of platform operations. He led global payments and risk operations to foster billions of dollars of payment volume growth while serving as COO of Facebook Payments Inc.

Prior to Facebook, John was the founder/CEO of GroupCard, a social payments startup and Facebook Preferred Developer. GroupCard was acquired by InComm, a twenty billion dollar prepaid services company. At InComm, John served as VP of Ecommerce and Mobile payments. John worked with eBay and led growth efforts in Southeast Asia, category management and payments. While at eBay, his teams created billions of dollars of marketplace growth in new categories and emerging markets.

John is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He holds an MS in Engineering from Cornell and an MBA from Stanford Business School.
