Supabase is an open-source backend platform built on Postgres, positioned as an alternative to Firebase for building web and mobile applications. It bundles a dedicated Postgres database with auto-generated REST and GraphQL APIs, built-in authentication with social logins and row-level security, S3-compatible object storage with a global CDN, globally distributed edge functions, real-time sync over WebSockets, and a vector toolkit for AI embeddings — all working together out of the box.
